Zandvoort brings the spice - F1 Round 17

Welcome to round 17 of the F1 season here in SLR. and we returned to Zandvoort after a season away. A tough and twisty circuit with not much room for error, we were in for a treat this weekend! All championships were up for grabs this week as this is our penultimate round, so were any of our titles sealed before next week's finale in Qatar?

Lap 34 incident involving SemmF1 & SimbarocksONE

Verdict: 3 seconds removed from SemmF1, 3s + 1LP to SemmF1 & SimbarocksONE

Detail: The stewards agreed that from the initial clips provided, that the penalty can be removed as there is not much Semm can do here. However, the stewards also agreed to investigate incidents that took part in these clips, and agreed that a small penalty is to be awarded to both drivers, Simba for the incident at the chicane and Semm for the incident at the final corner. In both instances, it would have been better for the attacking driver to stay behind, and because they have gone for this move it has significantly impacted the driver they are attacking.

Lap 24 incident involving raceroller22 & SemmF1

Verdict: No Further Action

Detail: On the straight, the stewards agreed that Semm was already moving over to defend roller before he moved, but with roller's over speed this was made to seem worse than it was. The stewards also agreed that in the sequence of corners that followed, it was always unlikely that both cars were going to get through side by side, and because of the contact model this has caused them to lock wheels and such roller has been forced off. The stewards agreed this would be harsh to penalise.

Lap 35 incident involving raceroller22 & SemmF1

Verdict: No Further Action

Detail: The stewards agreed that this was nothing but hard racing between the two drivers - both instances they are alongside each other and the stewards didn't see enough to penalise either driver.

Verdict: 5s + 1LP to GoldenEggFryer

Detail: Although they understand the intention behind this, the stewards were in agreement that Arbon did not have enough time to react to Fryer slowing down, and so have decided to apply a penalty.

Lap 27 incidents involving GoldenEggFryer & Arb0n EPA

Verdict: 3s + 1LP to Arb0n EPA

Detail: The stewards agreed that the first and third incidents were deemed racing incidents and such decided not to penalise for these, however the second incident they agreed that Arbon should be penalised as he comes across and pushes Fryer off the track, despite the latter being plenty alongside.

Lap 36 incident involving GoldenEggFryer & Ozan

Verdict: 5s + 1LP to Ozan

Detail: Ozan ignores blue flags and sits right ahead of Fryer for almost the entire lap. If he was a quicker driver then this would not have been a problem, however as Fryer was clearly quicker, Ozan should have conceded the position.
