Sweet 16 begins at Silverstone - F1 Round 1

Welcome back everyone, it's a new year, and a new season as Summit League Racing kicks off 2026 with the beginning of Season 16. The points are erased and it's back to the drawing board once again, and it's anyone's guess who will take the titles this season! Round 1 began at one of the highest voted tracks, as we begin at the home of SLR, Silverstone, for the British Grand Prix. Plenty of close racing as always ensued, with the winning gap less than a second in 2 divisions! Here's how it went down in our Season Opener!

Qualifying incident involving LRS-Karl & Lansiee23
Verdict: 1LP to Lansiee23
Detail: The stewards decided that this was the best penalty to give as they did not feel that the block was sufficient enough to warrant a Qualifying Ban for the next race, as it did not directly hinder Karl's lap. However there were still cases of potential dirty air and the distraction of being so close ahead, so 1LP has been applied to Lansiee here.

Next up, we head to the glorious Circuit Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgian Grand Prix as we continue a very European start to the season. It wasn't too long ago that our divisions took on a rain-soaked circuit causing plenty of chaos. Here's what we could see happen next week:
SLR Ham19 could become the first driver to score 2300 SLR F1 points if they score 24 points, in his 200th race no less.
Arb0n EPA (65th) could reach 500 points if they score 5 points, in their 100th SLR F1 race.
DustyBassoon244 (111th) could reach 300 points if they score 9 points.
SLR Laney could take part in their 125th SLR F1 race.
J Lee Menz & F1ABQW3RTYYY could both race for the 100th time in SLRF1.
Scar B0rga could take part in their 75th F1 race in SLR.
