Returning to Action in Silverstone! F1 Round 4

Welcome to Round 4 of Season 15 here in SLR F1, and with everyone having the weekend off last week, we're back to action and in some fashion, as we return to a fan-favourite in the Silverstone Circuit for the British Grand Prix. A home track for many of the drivers, they were all hoping for a strong performance in front of their home crowd. Let's see how everyone got on!

Ticket # 91 - Lap 1 incident involving Arb0n EPA & RedDragan

Verdict: 3s + 1LP to RedDragan

Detail: The stewards believe that Dragan did not make it obvious that he was pitted, and so has made the wrong decision by pushing Arbon into the pits in order to get there. Dragan should have either yielded the position on the straight before, or taken another lap of the track if someone is blocking his entry to the pit lane.

Ticket # 87 - Qualifying incident involving SLR Moley & COLDEN3335

Verdict: 2LP to COLDEN3335

Detail: Even though that this was clearly not intentional from Colden, the stewards believe that he is still responsible for leaving the pit lane with too little time left, meaning that his car would go into AI whilst cars were still on flying laps.


Ticket # 88 - Lap 6 incident involving milanist_EME & TIRSpiderJR7834

Verdict: 5s + 2LP to TIRSpiderJR7834

Detail: This penalty is mainly for the incident at Stowe, where Spider was at fault for spinning Milanist and should have taken a wider line to allow space for him. However an extra LP has been given to Spider for the move on the straight; he reacted too late to milanist's move and forced him onto the grass. Whether it was intentional or not this is very dangerous.


Ticket # 89 - Lap 5 incident involving SLR Moley & SLR Hicklin

Verdict: Qualifying Ban + 3LP to SLR Hicklin

Detail: The stewards agreed that this was inexcusable from Hicklin, and that an effort should have been made to slow the car down before re-entering the track, especially at the apex of the corner where this incident occurs.


Ticket # 90 - Qualifying incident involving COLDEN3335 & SLR Laney

Verdict: 2LP to SLR Laney

Detail: The stewards have decided that 2LP should be given to Laney for this incident as this was a very reckless piece of driving and caused Colden to get a grid penalty. Even if this was just a friendly move that he didn't think caused any contact, he should have been more aware of what could have happened if they did collide.



That concludes another enthralling return to Silverstone with all the action you could have asked for. I wonder what the next 14 rounds will bring if that's anything to go by! Welcome to this week's debutants, Got a Lisp and Threefold1232, with the latter taking victory on debut in McKeon on Sunday. Congratulations and hopefully we'll see more in the coming weeks! Next up we head to Miami for the first time since Season 10, a challenging circuit for all drivers with not an often visit, but we'll be looking forward to seeing more action unfold regardless!
