No Raining on this Parade! - F1 Round 5

Welcome to the 5th Round of Season 16 in SLR, and there was plenty to look forward to as we head into the final race of the first third of the season. After this week you really begin to see the grids beginning to shape themselves, and what better place to confirm the order than the Red Bull Ring and the Austrian Grand Prix! We had 2 dry races in McKeon and Div 3 whilst Div 2 was wet-to-dry in both sessions. And if that wasn't enough excitement, Clock was back this week! Here's how it went down in Spielberg!

Detail: The stewards agreed that Lansiee does nothing wrong here, and had every right to move back to the racing line considering Karl was 7 tenths back, and wasn't impacted by this.

Lap 12 incident involving EVVOR94

Verdict: 5s + 1LP to EVVOR94

Detail: Evvo brakes too late and in doing so misses the pit entry, then re-enters into the pits, and therefore does not follow the pit entry rules. The standard penalty has been applied.

Lap 27 incident involving RustedBolt3021, SotierClock110 & Goggy

Verdict: 3s + 1LP to Goggy

Detail: The stewards were in agreement that Goggy did not give Clock enough space here, and because of this spins him.

Lap 30 incident involving RustedBolt3021 & BGR_SXPERI-74

Verdict: Warning to BGR_SXPERI-74

Detail: The stewards felt a warning to Sxperi was needed as despite him not moving aggressively to cover Bolt off, he does drift over slowly and in doing so does not give him enough room.

Lap 22 incident involving DNBSuperSkiilz - penalty removal request

Verdict: request accepted, 10 seconds removed from DNBSuperSkiilz

Detail: The stewards agreed that enough evidence was provided to remove this penalty. However, the stewards ask all drivers to remember to send a copy of the race director if they are looking to get a penalty removed. They do appreciate in this case there was a lobby glitch when all drivers crossed the line to finish the race, which made this much harder to obtain.

Lap 24 incident involving SparkHashira & Oli Matthews

Verdict: No Further Action

Detail: The stewards were in agreement that Oli did everything in the correct manner here by moving over to signal he was entering the pit lane, and staying within the pit lines, until the collision with Hashira. The stewards did agree that it perhaps would have been safer to let Hashira go past before entering the pit lane, however they felt they could not penalise Oli for following the pit entry guidelines correctly.

And that is that for the Raucous Red Bull Ring this season! Another weekend of strong racing with plenty of movement in the standings to look at before next week.
