Late Moves and Plenty of Chaos: F1 Round 6

Welcome to the race report for the 6th Round of the Season here in SLR, and with 5 rounds gone we're into the middle third of the season, split over a 6 week period during February and March. The opener of this period is definitely one to shout about though as we return to Baku! The scary streets of the capital city of Azerbaijan are back again in SLR and with that comes plenty of carnage and a high probability of Safety Cars, which I can assure you there were plenty! This means that with the stop-start nature, drivers found themselves in positions they didn't expect to be in and we definitely had some interesting results, including multiple photo-finish moves, one being for the win! Here's what happened this weekend!

Lap 4 incident involving MattCoper97 & LSJ Rundle

Verdict: 3s + 1LP to both MattCoper97 & LSJ Rundle

Detail: The stewards were in agreement that both drivers got as much as they gave in this situation - the initial move was not on for Matt and such agreed that he caused the collision at Turn 3, however Rundle was at fault for the incident at Turn 4 and causing damage to Matt, hence why both drivers have been penalised for causing collisions.


Lap 22 incident involving MattCoper97 & Drastik Blaze

Verdict: 5 + 1LP to Drastik Blaze

Detail: Blaze has moved across back to the racing line far too quickly, right in front of MattCoper and broke, leaving the driver behind no time to react and causing damage. The stewards believed that this would have been fine if there was sufficient time for Matt to react, but they believed he should have stayed with the line he had if he was to brake at that point.


Lap 25 incident involving MattCoper97 & Nightowl0208735, sent in by GoldenEggFryer

Verdict: No Further Action

Detail: From the clips provided, Nightowl has ghosted through the castle section after a collision with another car. MattCoper has initially gone through Nightowl as he had no time to react was ahead, and he quickly returned to the correct position at the safest opportunity. As this was done in a safe manner and the drivers ended up back in the same positions, the stewards were happy with this.

That's that for Azerbaijan, and once again it's carnage wherever you look! Plenty of DNF's and loads of Safety Cars - will we see any more at this level at another round this season? Next up, we head to Abu Dhabi, where:


... SLR Jam40 (2nd) can reach 2200 SLR F1 points if they score 15.5 points.


... Drastik Blaze (11th) could reach 1100 points if they score 8 points.


... Nealix (48th) could reach 600 points if they score 14 points.


... DustyBassoon244 (91st) could reach 400 points if they score 19 points.


... LuckyLuciano93 (238th) could reach 100 points if they score 21 points.
