Chaos as always at Saudi Arabia - F1 Round 7

Welcome to Round 7 of Season 15 in SLR, and after last weekend's Mystery Circuit Round we were back to a sense of normality as we were back to well known circuits, starting with a modern classic in the Jeddah Corniche Circuit for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, kicking off the middle third of the season with a bang! Here's what happened in the desert!



McKeon Division

Ticket # 102 - Lap 24 incident involving LSJ Rundle & Drastikblaze

Verdict: No Further Action

Detail: Rundle holds Blaze to a tight line whilst Blaze is the car on the outside. It is a corner which will more than likely not be clean side by side. It ends up in Rundle unfortunately spinning out as both cars approach to the corner at different speeds and 2 different lines coming together.


Ticket # 103 - Laps 23/24 incident involving Threefold1232, SemmF1 & TTM Crowding

Verdict: No Further Action

Detail: The stewards agreed that this was not inter-teaming between two non team-mates, but rather that in the scenario that Semm and Crowding were in, it was a logical move to attempt to 'work together' to keep Threefold behind the both of them so they could maintain position.


Ticket # 104 - Lap 24 incidents involving Threefold1232 & TTM Crowding

Verdict: No Further Action

Detail: First of all at Turn 4 there is only 1 true line through this corner, and the stewards decided that Threefold was not alongside enough to warrant space at such a tight corner. Secondly between Turns 16/17, the stewards agreed that this was a very optimistic place to go for the overtake, and that Crowding doesn't make any deliberate movements to force Threefold off the track. The stewards deemed this No Further Action as they decided Threefold was always going to end up where he did on the run off, as he forced his car there.

Ticket # 98 - Lap 21 incident involving PENROSE_86 & I CJT22 I

Verdict: 2LP to PENROSE_86

Detail: Penrose misjudges the position of his car when re-joining the track after a mistake, turning right into a wall and losing control, causing him to hit CJT, giving him damage. This was a clear misjudgement from Penrose, causing damage to another car, so the stewards have decided to apply 2LP to him due to him not finishing.


Ticket # 99 - Lap 24/25 incident involving Salt N Kepa1520

Verdict: 30s + 1LP to Salt N Kepa1520

Detail: Kepa uses AI for the final 1.5 laps of the race after running out of fuel, in order to get to the finish sooner. Using AI like this is against the rules, and Kepa would have finished outside the points hat he not been in AI (as shown by the final straight when he was not in AI), so a 30 second penalty has been applied to add some of the time he would have gained back on if he followed the rules. Only 1LP has been applied for this as it was not bad driving; merely Kepa trying to exploit something in the game to gain an advantage.

Ticket # 100 - Lap 1 incident involving SLR Xynew, SLR Moley + other drivers

Verdict: No Further Action

Detail: Moley goes into a gap that is there, making a clean overtaking attempt. Then multiple cars lock wheels, which results in Xynew getting damage. Nobody was clearly at fault for this, so this was deemed a Lap 1 Turn 1 Racing Incident.


Ticket # 101 - Qualifying incident involving BadOtterTV & Nealix

Verdict: Qualifying Ban + 2LP to Nealix

Detail: Nealix comes out of the pits for an outlap, unaware of BadOtter starting a qualifying lap, and blocks him. Nealix should have been more aware of other cars on the same part of the track when exiting the pits to avoid this in future. The standard Qualifying Block penalty has been applied here.



Well thanks everyone for another exciting weekend of Saudi Arabia, it has never been one to disappoint when it comes to action. Congratulations to Nolstrom on making his SLR debut this weekend, after taking part in testing he was finally able to make a competitive race on Saturday in Division 3, and a solid P7 to round it off.
