Braving the Beast of Belgium - F1 Round 2


Welcome back to Round 2 of the SLR F1 Season, and this week we were back at the Circuit Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium after a quick turnaround. Last season it was Round 16/18 that took us here, and we are back just 4 races later. After last week's exciting opener, were we in for more close fighting and eager battles for the win this time out? Let's find out what happened in this season's Belgian Grand Prix!

Lap 6 incident involving MattCoper97

Verdict: Warning removed - 3s removed from MattCoper97

Detail: The stewards agreed to remove the warning given to MattCoper here as he was not given the chance to stay on the track, and he also rejoined in a safe manner, behind the car that forced him off.


Lap 16 incident involving LSJ Rundle & Qyzhr

Verdict: No further action

Detail: The stewards were in agreement that Qyzhr should not be penalised for this due to the mass overspeed he had, as well as Rundle moving over late to cover him off, which ultimately causes the collision.


Lap 17 incident involving LSJ Rundle & Drastik Blaze

Verdict: 3s + 1LP to Drastik Blaze

Detail: The stewards decided that even though the claim was that this was desync and that there was no contact from Blaze, they were not able to prove this, and such could only make their decision from what evidence they had. They agreed that from Rundle's point of view this looked a very dangerous manoeuvre, and such have applied a penalty.


Lap 17 incident involving LSJ Rundle & TRT_Karim

Verdict: Race Ban + 4LP to TRT_Karim

Detail: Karim intentionally goes out of his way to disrupt Rundle's race multiple times in this sequence of corners. He slows down off the racing line to then turn into him at the entry to the corner, lets the driver behind continue, and then continues to hit him off the track on the exit of the corner. The stewards agreed that this is extremely unsportsmanlike from Karim, and have such awarded the above penalty.


Lap 21 incident involving Qyzhr

Verdict: Qualifying Ban + 3LP to Qyzhr

Detail: This was a rage quit / retirement on track, so the standard penalty is applied here.


Lap 22 incident involving SLR Jam40 & DustyBassoon244

Verdict: 10s removed from SLR Jam40, 3s removed from DustyBassoon244

Detail: The stewards believed that both penalties given to the drivers could be removed here. They didn't believe that Dusty was running Jam off the road, the issue was more the game mechanics and the wheels locking together, taking both drivers off track. They have decided to remove both of the penalties, and the drivers are to be re-instated back to their initial positions.

Qualifying incident involving LRS-#78Nello & skullkiller1014

Verdict: Qualifying Ban + 2LP to skullkiller1014

Detail: The stewards are in agreement that this is a clear block by skullkiller when Nello was on a flying lap. A reminder to all drivers to be aware of drivers on fast laps, especially when everyone is bunching up in the final sector. It is the responsibility of drivers on in/out laps to make sure they are not impacting drivers on fast laps during the Qualifying session.


Lap 12 incident involving Lansiee23 & Goggy

Verdict: 5s + 1LP to Goggy

Detail: The stewards agreed that not sufficient space was given to Lansiee by Goggy going into this corner, and that the lack of space given has casued Lansiee to go off. Hence the stewards agreed on the above penalty.



Division 3
